Who we are

Tama Green is the Founder and Principal Practitioner at Equine Fusion. She is a highly skilled and passionate professional with a diverse range of qualifications and experiences in the fields of community services, youth work, trauma-informed practice, and animal-assisted therapies. She holds an Advanced Diploma of Horse Management with a Horse Behaviour Electives, as well as qualifications in Youth Work and Community. Additionally, she is a certified Equine Specialist through the Equine Assisted Growth And Learning Association and an Equine Assisted Learning Practitioner through the Equine Psychotherapy Institute. Recently, she completed a therapy horse and handler course in the USA, enabling her to bring the mini ponies into Aged Care Homes, hospitals, and schools.

With a background working with various populations, including young people in residential care, individuals of all ages facing mental health challenges, and those in the juvenile justice system, Tama brings a wealth of knowledge and understanding to her current clients and participants.

Previously, Tama managed her own trail riding business, as well as a breeding and training centre, but she wanted a kinder way to work with horses, where they had some choice and autonomy over their own behaviour. Her commitment to creating positive change not only in animals lives but also in people’s lives, led her to establish a nature-based wellness retreat on her picturesque property in far East Gippsland.

At Kanukadale Care Farm, Tama facilitates transformative retreats that incorporate horse-assisted activities working with her herd of therapy horses. These activities provide individuals with opportunities for personal growth, healing, and self-discovery in a nurturing and natural environment.
