IMPORTANT INFO
You have come to visit a working farm. There are heaps of friendly animals around that love humans. There may also be a loose bit of wire or a burnt post that we have missed, this is because the entire property was burnt in the Black Summer bushfires of December 2019. All fences, stables, sheds and two houses were lost, but all our animals survived as we evacuated them. We are in the process of rebuilding and re-fencing, so please let us know if you come across a stray bit of wire or burnt post. There are snakes, spiders, wombats, possums and also chickens, guinea fowl and peacocks on this property. We provide safe habitat for the native animals, please keep away from the vegetated areas.
ü Dogs need to be on a leash at all times on the property. They can be off leash along the river, once through our gates
ü Pets cannot go inside the picnic glamping tents, please tie them to a tree close by or to your car
ü Please DO NOT feed any animals as it teaches them to become food aggressive – Peacocks will start chasing children and horses will start biting
ü Again, do not feed Peacocks as they will start coming into camps and then get attacked by a dog and also trash your lovely picnic. They are better semi-wild
ü Please do not go through any closed gates, except the gate to the river
ü This is the Australian bush, there are snakes. It is advised not to go in any of the long grass. Stick to paths and short grass so you can see snakes and avoid them
ü We don’t have rubbish collection so please take all your rubbish with you
ü Please be considerate of other guests staying and be part of the tranquility here at Kanukadale
